Shops and magical products aside, Diagon Alley is superior to Hogsmeade because of the opportunities to bump into friends outside of Hogwarts! Hogsmeade might be pretty, but it's practically next door to the castle. Can you do both Harry Potter parks in one day?
You HAVE to get a PARK HOPPER pass to do BOTH parks. Then buy a ticket for Volcano Bay separately. You cannot take the Hogwarts Express unless you have a park hopper pass! If you want to do one day at Harry Potter in Universal then you need to go to both parks and get the Park Hopper pass. Is the Hogwarts Express worth it?
If you have any Harry Potter fans in the group, then I would definitely not skip the Hogwarts Express. It really is a fun experience if you have never done it before.
